Made from 1/8" steel tubing, powder-coated black. The redwood post is routed, inserted into the boot and then bolted to the boot. The assembly is set in concrete. The boot protects the post from rot while allowing the concrete to finish below grade. It also makes the structure very moveable if needed: unbolt the post and remove the structure.
