Need a unique outdoor space to hang amongst the trees? Or command-central for gardening projects? We've got you covered. From Zip-line ridesvand rope-net hangouts to custom sheds and huts, our offerings will delight the whole family.
We attach heavy-duty aircraft cable to two trees and add the cable ride, which is a rescue-grade zipline trolley. Then we add a disc swing on rope as the seat. We spend a great deal of time selecting the trees, deciding on the distance, the drop, and the amount of slack in the line for the ride. Then we set up a temporary zip line and start the testing to make sure it's a fast, fun ride (but not too fast). That means we have to go on it again and again - a tough job but somebody's got to do it! Once we get the ride zipping along just right, we attach the permanent cable to the trees and hand it over to the kids!
A tree-to-tree Zip Line Ride may require a Take-off Platform of some kind to get the best ride. Scroll down to view the Tree Perch - our most popular Take-off Platform.
Zip Line Rides are only available for purchase in conjunction with a play structure or treehouse. We do not build Zip Line Rides separately.

$3,900 is the starting price for a “tree‐to‐tree” 50-foot long Zipline Ride. Additional costs apply for longer zipline rides, take-off platforms, and delivery & installation.
We love to include a Zipline ride with a treehouse or play structure! (Sorry, we do not build Zipline Rides separately.
Zipline Rides can only be purchased in conjunction with a play structure or treehouse.
A Tree Perch is usually constructed in sections & attached around a tree with knee braces and custom TABs for support and/or footing posts. One of Barbara’s favorite Tree Perches is built with one or more "wedges" with 38" high fortress railings and cantilevered supports. Each Tree Perch is unique, and cost will widely vary depending on the size of the tree and square footage of the perch. A rung ladder usually provides access from the ground, but other forms of access are also available.
A Tree Perch is a great "take-off" platform for a Zip Line Ride (cable ride priced separately) or as a stand-alone play fort.

Mindfully designed, these cozy, safe spaces allow anyone to retreat from the frenetic, sensory whirlwinds of the playground, and empowers them to re-emerge when and if they choose. Magical Bridge Retreat Huts provide havens for those who need breaks, as well as anyone who needs time to adjust to the environment before participating in the wider playground experience.
Kids with autism deserve to be part of a larger community. Families often avoid playgrounds because the sensory and social environments are too unfriendly and overwhelming. By giving autistic park-goers a chance to “retreat” and slowly participate when they are ready, we give them (and their families) a place where they belong. Everyone deserves an opportunity to engage in healthy play, have opportunities to develop motor skills and social skills and to make friends.

The Boys & Girls Club of the Penninsula, in Menlo Park, needed a garden shed to store tools. Deke Hunter of Hunter Properties, Inc. asked Barbara to design a garden shed to help their garden program along. Deke donated the cost of materials and labor. Barbara donated the design costs and built the Kid's Garden Shed. These young club members inspect Kid's Garden Shed on its opening day.
Kids Garden Shed has intricate carving on all four sides of garden tools, plants, cut-outs and trims. Shutters open inward and latch to the walls for safety. They can be locked from the inside when the gardeners leave. The door to Kid's Garden Shed also swings in, latches flat against the wall and locks for the night.

Though we specialize in tree houses, we’ve made our fair share of sandboxes over the years, too. We start with the same sustainable redwood that we use for all of our structures, handcraft the box to the desired shape and then add our vivid tung oil stains for maximum appeal. This design packs lots of different play options into a compact space.
